Confused About Rafflecopter End Times?

I’ve had a lot of issues lately with giveaways submitted with the wrong end date because of confusion over how Rafflecopter works.

Rafflecopter giveaways are set to end at 12:01 am.  This is a default setting and as of right now, you can’t change it.  That means your giveaway ends at 1 minute past midnight.  So your giveaway is actually only open for 1 minute on the end date you chose.

So let’s say you want to end your giveaway on the 20th at midnight.  You actually need to put the 21st as the end date in Rafflecopter.  (Your giveaway will be open for 1 minute on the 21st – or effectively end on the 20th at midnight.)

When you are submitting giveaways to directories and linkys please make sure you use the previous day at midnight as the end time.  So if the Rafflecopter form is set to end on the 5th at 12:01 am, then you would use an end date of the 4th at midnight when you submit your giveaway to directories and linkys.  Otherwise, you will have people annoyed if they try to enter your giveaway and discover it is already closed.

I know there are new people using Rafflecopter every day and most aren’t aware at first about that quirk with the end time.  So they think their giveaways end at midnight on whatever date they put in the form, when actually their giveaway ended almost 24 hours before that.  I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion.
